Help! I’m struggling…
November 28th, 2007 by writeontherunThe good news is that it must have been a bug of some kind that flattened me for the half marathon through hell. The bad news is that I’m having some pretty serious trouble eating still, without my stomach revolting. I’m pretty sure that there is, in the words of my 3 year old, a mean monster in my stomach that twists and turns and breaths fire when I try most foods. As a result, here’s what I’ve gotten down since Saturday morning (it’s Wednesday night): 1/2 bowl of plain pasta, 1 yogurt, 1 bowl of corn flakes (not a good experience), 1/2 bowl of raisin bran, 1 bananna, and, cursed addiction, some milk and coffee mixed pretty equally (which was the best of the bunch, ironically). And more gatorade and water than I want to think about. This is not what I would suggest for a pre-13 mile run diet. So I went to run today, because as long as I’m not eating anything, I feel reasonably ok. It wasn’t a terrible 3 miles, but it was slow and I could sure tell at the end that I didn’t feel right. Let’s just say that the idea of adding 10 miles on wasn’t all that appealing. Sigh. I’m hoping for a terrific dinner tonight, a miracle recovery and a great run tomorrow morning. I’m in need of the great run because, as you can well imagine, my confidence is plummeting along with my weight.

Yuck! I would stick with the bland foods. I hope that you get some of your energy back.
