I'm a lucky woman who loves her life. I have an amazing husband who makes me laugh and challenges me all at the same time I have two very young, bright, funny, entertaining children and a job I love as a physcial therapist. In my free time, I'm a runner (slow but sure), a hiker, a writer (at least by avocation), and a human jungle gym for my little ones. This is my third 1/2 marathon, along with a couple fulls, but my first foray back into distance running since the two back-to-back little ones. (My running partner's favorite fact about me is that my kids are 363 days apart.) It's also my first attempt at any type of blogging, and I'm basically computer illiterate, so hang in there with me.

Enjoy the silence! I ran this morning, all alone. Don’t get me wrong, I love running with Kim and run regularly because she is there. When I’m not running with Kim, I’m running at the gym with 20 other people present and one eye open for the daycare staff, in case my kids need me.  This morning, my husband ran first while I watched the kids. After a few miles (hooray for him, he’s turning into a runner too! He even bought his first real pair of running shoes last week. Shoes that he bought for fit and performance, not for “they looked good at the outlet mall.” I’m very proud!) he came back, and off I went into the chilly air. Covered by all the cold weather running gear I could find and gloves, I jogged through the neighborhood and around the town. It was the perfect cold, crisp, sunny, quiet morning that I love. There was nobody around as they were probably all planning turkey feasts and making stuffing. The mountains were snow-capped and the view was stunning. To tell the truth, I never got into a comfortable running rhythm, but I still enjoyed the few minutes of time stolen for myself. Happy Thanksgiving, all.
